Process
Everyone says their website is secure but no one knows it. Security Guardian provides companies the way to secure their website by the Security Guardian's online website vulnerability scanner and the way to make their customers know it by the Security Guardian'a web security seal.
After signing up with Security Guardian, you'll proceed with a verification process in order to accurately reflect your company information. We will verify your company address, fiscal identification number, privacy and data protection, technical support phone number and e-mail address, the phone numbers of your main office and of your support/customer care manager or other managing member representing your company (this information will be kept private).
This verification process will ensure that your company is unequivocally identified and that you are who you say you are.
You'll be given immediate access to your administration console and clear instructions on how to implement the Security Guardian Certification Seal in your website. Your website domain or IP address will be required to start performing the vulnerability scans. Web scans will be done automatically on a daily or weekly or monthly basis (Enterprise, Lite or Small Business version) and as soon as they are complete, you will be able to review the reports and see if there are any vulnerabilities that need to be resolved.
The Vulnerability Scanner
Security Guardian web vulnerability scan is performed by a computer program designed to seek out and detect weaknesses against the Web site to be certified, by consulting a database of known web vulnerabilities (the web vulnerability scanner has more than 30000 vulnerabilities). In the case Security Guardian web vulnerability scannner doesn't detect any critical vulnerability will show the Website Security Certification Seal (with the performed scan type, the scan date and the Security Guardian logo) in your website.
Security Guardian's vulnerability scan will execute a wide range of tests in order to verify the security of your website like SQL Injection, Cross Site Scripting(XSS), HTTP Smuggling, HTTP splitting, Buffer Overflow, Format string, HTTP Methods, Server Side Including (SSI), CGIs, Transversal Path, Directory Listing, etc. All these tests are completely transparent for your website and they will provide you an accurate report with the type and number of vulnerabilities found in your website by our vulnerability scanner.
Vulnerability Scan Results
Security Guardian web scan results will be shown in the administration area. There you'll see two interfaces. The first interface will shown the result of a specific scan.
The second interface will let you select any of your domains you are scanning regularly and group the vulnerabilities depending on their critical nature.
Web vulnerabilities scans results will be listed and you'll be able to view a complete report about any of the vulnerabilities detected. Each report will show the type of scan requested, the received answer and an explanation about the vulnerability found as well as indications about how to resolve this specific vulnerability.
